So, this morning, I decided to breech a touchy subject with my wife: Dejunking.
There are some things inside one of our kitchen cabinet shelves that have been there since we moved here MANY years ago. Who knows, the Creature From the Black Lagoon (Millenials can Google this) could be in there somewhere!
To my knowledge, we have used nothing, NADA, diddle-dee-quat from that shelf.
Likely sensing my resolve and fearing I would attempt to dejunk that shelf without her, my wife said, “Look, you don’t THROW away things that are still usable. You GIVE them away. The things that are NOT usable, they’re junk. You THROW them away.”
I said, “How would you categorize me?” Without hesitation, she said, “You’re STUCK somewhere in between!” OUCH.
My take away from this exchange …
If you’re in your *Golden* Years like me (thus, the title of this brief article) and you still have parts of you that are still usable, do something useful ASAP or you’ll wind up in the throw-away bag or the recyclable bin!
